Barton Stanley David Returns to Texas to Record ‘Crest’
After living and working for 10 years in New York, Texas singer songwriter Barton Stanley David returned to Texas in 2019, and started working on his new album. The album 'Crest', inspired by the tension he felt between having his loved one in New York and being drawn to Texas, is set to be released on April 22.
Barton shares the story of creating this album and the obstacles he encountered, and what he thinks about separating the artist from their art. Tune in to hear the lovely live acoustic performance of 'Cicada!'
My songs are pretty existential, I usually write on broader themes rather than being topical, but I think we shouldn't limit anyone’s expression. - Barton Stanley David
