EXCLUSIVE: Melissa Lucio Family Speaks Out!
This is an exclusive interview with the three members of Melissa Lucio’s family, and Sabrina van Tassel who directed the documentary The State of Texas vs. Melissa, available on Hulu.
Journalist and investigative reporter Sabrina Van Tassel was a guest twice on the show to talk about her film and Melissa Lucio’s case. In February, she toured with the members of Melissa’s family in order to raise awareness about the inconsistencies of this case, and the reasons why Melissa should be taken off death row and freed.
Melissa’s sister Sonya, Melissa’s son John and her niece Vanessa share some exclusive information about the case and the death of Melissa’s two-year-old daughter Mariah that have never been told before.
"My mother was not an abusive person. She wasn’t a perfect person either, but she wasn’t abusive.” - John Lucio
