Steven Rossler - Blue Cord BBQ
Steven’s first posting for the US military was in Hawaii but before long he was posted overseas and served in active combat.
The pandemic gave Steven the opportunity to retire early from the military, but in returning to civilian life Steven felt it hard to come to terms with the things he’d seen and done, and the other serviceman that had lost their lives overseas.
Following his lifelong passion for cooking, Steven started a BBQ truck and aside from feeding others and making money, this was also what saved him from the demons he had been battling.
Steven joins us to discuss why he started a BBQ food truck to begin with, how cooking helped him overcome his PTSD, and the challenges he faced starting from scratch.
We also talk about how he grew his BBQ business, the community there is in the BBQ world, and the different techniques we have for cooking the perfect ribs…
“I wanted to be a cook and they said you’re scores are great you can go be a cook, but with the military we have Hawaii and you can go be a grunt.” - Steven Rossler
